The Hartford City Arts Council was created to provide live music and promote appreciation and display of the visual arts for residents in and around Hartford City.

The Hartford City Arts Council consists of six board members appointed by the Mayor of Hartford City.  These volunteers bring various facets of art to our community; including music, culture, art, and family fun. It is the council’s hope to enlighten and inspire the community.

Activities include movie nights on the Downtown Square, as well as quilt, pottery, and art shows.  Many of the events are performed by local artists.  The council has also brought in some well-known artists such as the Mississinewa Valley Band, the 38th Infantry Division National Guard Band, the Purdue University Men’s Glee Club and the Ball State University Singers.

Other activities sponsored by the Arts Council include the annual Halloween parade and “trunk or treat”, along with the Christmas Extravaganza with face painting, music, craft projects, and a visit by Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.
