The Hartford City Police Department is comprised of thirteen full-time Officers. These include the Chief, Deputy Chief, two Detectives, three Sergeants and six Patrolmen. That also includes a full time K-9 Unit, and an eight member Emergency Response Team that trains weekly with five members from the Sheriffs Office. The Department is actively involved with a number of organizations such as DARE, TRIAD (Crime and the Elderly) and Neighborhood Watch groups. With recent improvements such as competitive wages and benefits, as well as a take home car policy. The Hartford City Police Department is an excellent example of a well trained modern police force.
